No, it isn't moderated and no, you should not post off-topic subjects. Your
item about the USB radio did actually make it to this newsgroup. Use Google
to locate it if you cannot find it with your current newsreader.

I've seen other people do it and nothing's been said to them. In *this*
newsgroup and the one for Vista. I will admit it has not been often, but it
*has* happened. Is there some rule about who can do it and who cannot?

Nope. The worst that could happen is that MS will nuke your message from
their servers but they can't do shit about the thousands of other
servers that carry this news group.

Why would you want to post a question or subject matter in a news group that
has nothing to do with your post? You're not likely to get any meaningful
answers and it distracts others who are seeking or offering help. It's
kinda like if I ask a question about pharmacology while in an office news
group. There are thousands of news groups and no doubt one of them will
relate to your question. Just because other people do it doesn't make it
right. It's called Netiquette.

Why did you even bother to post? You did NOT answer my question. You're
ASKING questions. Learn what a question is, and how to answer it...idiot.

I think the tone of your reply has just about closed this thread. If your
missing post ran along the same lines then this might be the reason why you
can no longer see it.

I said I could NEVER see it. Do you know what NEVER means? Not quite the
same as *no longer* now is it?

And that post was from A to B...so why don't you just C your way out of it!
What business is it of yours anyway? I'll answer that...NONE!!! Stick to
solving computer problems, stop trying to police posts...ok? Stay out of my
business. Don't let me have to repeat myself!

====================================

OE Tools | Options | Read | Get XXX headers at a time

The default is 300. You may set this option as high as 1,000. Right-click
on the newsgroup in Folders pane | Synchronization Settings | select New
Messages Only. Now every time you open the newsgroup (or hit F5), you will
download the next-newest set of headers/messages..

When you feel you've downloaded enough headers/messages, again right-click
on the newsgroup in Folders pane and select Catch Up Now. This will Mark as
Read all messages on the server, including ones you've not yet downloaded.
Now return to "Get XXX headers at a time" and uncheck the option completely;
then compact the folder.

From now on, OE will only download headers/messages posted to the server
since you last checked (polled) for messages.

You should probably visit this page, too:
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm#cleannews (lotsa good stuff
there).

Thank you PA Bear. Rather than *chastise* me like a little kid, YOU answered
my question.

"Chastise you like a little kid"? You must be joking! When someone mentions
(not chastises!) that it's not a good idea to post off-topic subjects then
you immediately become a foul-mouthed brat, lashing out at everyone around
you. You do behave like a little kid in need of some basic lessons in
getting along with other people (especially with those that hold a different
opinion than your own) - but then maybe we're witnessing your growing-up
pains. Now go and put that dummy back in your mouth!

I will now brace myself for another load of your vernacular - I might even
learn a few new words.

Lol...so you feel better now? You just felt the need to post. Now tell
everybody, what does YOUR post have to do with computers? Seems your post
was off topic too...you moron.

Tip: Don't feed the trolls.

Took you a few hours to come up with that witty and biting comment huh...lol

No, he didn't answer your question. He posited one reason why you might not
be able to see your post. There are other, equally valid, possibilities. For
example, insanity.

The answer to your question is: "No, this group is not moderated."

No...the answer is the one he gave me. Me asking was the group moderated was
in the SUBJECT line. Any intelligent person would realize that I would want
to know WHY I was NOT seeing my post. I guess YOU did not understand that
huh? (chuckle)
