When certain programs accessed, an annoying sound similar to a mooing cow sounds out i.e.when msn, google accessed. Ad-aware, Norton anti virus and spybot searches indicate no viruses yet annoying sound comes on spradically. Any ideas what this is and how to get rid of it?

Gasbar,

Find the sound - search your system drive for "*.wav". If you find the file, is
it associated with a particular program (what folder is it in?)?

Or get Filemon (free) from http://www.sysinternals.com/. Filter it on "*.wav".
When the sound goes off, see what it displays.

In addition to AdAware and Spybot S&D, try HijackThis.

Get HijackThis <http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=3155>. Also free.
1) Install and run HijackThis. Do NOT make any changes immediately. Save the
HJT Log.
2) Have your HJT log interpreted by experts at one or more of the following
forums (and post it here):

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
