Fed Up

Ive already posted this problem but was getting no reply
to it in the last couple of days so im posting again with
a bit more info.

Here is my problem:

Ok.. I have had the exact same probelm with 2 printers
now...the HP 690 and now a canon MPC190.With the HP 690
it was working fine for ages and then suddenly it just
stopped printing.

HP 690:

Now all it does is when I go to print something..It only
takes a piece of paper in and then it comes up a "failure
to print" message. I have gone through all the trouble
shooter and I have reinstalled the printer but still no
go.

admin logs had these error message and got this :
"Symbolic Name: MSG_PRINT_ON_PROC_FAILED
Message: The document %1 owned by %2 failed to print on
printer %3. Win32 error code returned by the print
processor: %4. %5

Explanation
The print server is low on resources such as memory or
hard drive space, or a TCP/IP printer is not connected to
the network. It is common for this message to appear
several times; however, if this message appears more than
25 times in a 15-minute period, you might have to restart
the print spooler."

I have restarted the print spooler but still no luck.

And when the error does occur it comes up with a flashing
orange light on symbol on the printer (..a page that has
an arrow on it)

And I have looked over the printer and there are no paper
jams etc etc.

MPC190:

The printer is able to scan images as well as photocopy
but it wont print documents or pictures at all.

I get these messages when I try to print:

Unable to communicate with the device
Please start "MPservice" from the services applet in the
control panel
Then please right click on the status monitor to
reconnect and try again.

and that is followed by this message:

The print job failed to complete
Reason:
Unable to communicate with device
Device turned off or disconnected

and I got this message at help and support centre:

Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the
correct location.

Version: 5.0
Symbolic Name: status_log_hard_error
Message: Unable to Load Device Driver : device driver
could not be loaded.

Explanation
The program could not load a driver because the program
user doesn't have sufficient privileges to access the
driver or because the drive is missing or corrupt.

User Action
To correct this problem:

Reinstall the program to restore the driver to the
correct location.

I have gone though the entire troubleshoot and none of
the solutions work sadly
Now the printer is working
there is no alarm light blinking
No warning or attention displayed in the status monitor
Im not printing in DOS and I cannot print in command
prompt
The application I am using to print is compatible with OS
I have plenty of free memory( about 50-100 mb of ram )
I have plenty of hard drive space ( about 9 GB )
I have restarted the computer but still no change
I have reinstalled the software but still no change
The USB cord is not faulty as I am able to scan images to
my computer
When I try and restart the MPService from the services
applet in the control panel I get the same error messages:

The Canon MultiPASS hardware could not be
initialised...blah blah blah and then it gives me about 4
reasons why but none of them are the problem I think.

And I am not able to reconnect via the status monitor as
it does not let me do so

Ive found this in the events log: The document "blah"
printer owned by Kelly failed to print. Win32 error code
returned by the print processor: 63 (0x3f)
I only get this message in the log occasionally (usually
when I try to print something multiple times) Usually I
dont get a message recorded in the logs at all about it
but with the HP 690 I was getting heaps of them.

PLEASE COULD SOMEONE HELP ME

and this may seem like a lot to ask but if anyone has a
solution that may seem rather technical could they please
email me with the solution on how to fix this annoying
problem on a step by step basis

You ungrateful little... How *DARE* you say that no one replied?! Cari did
her damnedest to assist you. Sure, she may not have replied within the last
48 hours - but she has a life away from this newsgroup, you know. Contrary
to popular belief she doesn't spend her entire life waiting for schmucks
like you to have a problem, so she can assist. Then you compound it by
saying you want an emailed reply. Sorry, but this is Usenet, buddy, not a
personal one-to-one support centre. Replies stay on the group for the
benefit of all. If you don't like that, don't post.

How do you know "none of them are the problem" (and it should be "none of
them /is/ the problem" - none is singular, any is plural) - have you checked
each one in turn? Or have you, as I suspect, just dismissed them out of
hand?

?

.........

SRY !!!!!

I have gone though the problems one by one... not that it
really matters anymore cos Im definetly never coming here
again!!!!!
