Is there anyone in Swansea who can burn the RC1 iso for me?

B

Blue Robot

I've tried 12 times to download the rc1 iso and every time it stops at
1.99gb.

I've tried it without a download manager, with the akamai one and using net
transport.

I've tried it at all times of the day.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is it a NTL problem?

I'll pay you for the DVD or replace it

Thanks

Chris

Real Quick here.
Do yourself a favor;skip the AKAMI dload manager.
Grab one off the net. I've never had problems; this one owrks great;it's
free also.
www.freedownloadmanager.org

Install it.

Now; go back to the RC1 download page;but don't click on the links on
the left side; look on the right side;you'll see the exact same links under
a heading of;use your own browser/dload manager.
Click on the apprpriate one; BINGO FDM will grab it;make a folder ya can
find;and won't disappear.
If ya need quicker help; chk out the vista chatroom;

Usually someone in there that can help-in more "real-time"

Remember to check the integrity of the ISO when you finish downloading:

Windows Vista BETA 2 Ultimate Edition MD5 and CRC Values Information:

x86
- File Size = 2.5 GB
MD5 hash: 22486e815a38feffd9667317dfeec55a
SHA1 hash: e00b4ebbc81fb420cf047973b95a9cfb7cdf51b7

x64
- File Size = 3.6 GB
MD5 hash: f3a385aae6e4dea9226e31d9f1148b56
SHA1 hash: 8e4de7a72c828a3543ff1663243eb0836da07eea

I use the Ahead NERO MD5 Verifier:
http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Nero_MD5_Verifier.html
Paste the MD5 Checksum for either x64 or x86 depending on which one you want
to
check in Step 1, Step 2 - Browse to where you stored the ISO on your drive
and open it and it will automatically start the verification process and
generate the result in the third field, if it matches Step 1, then you are
safe.

Not that I'm aware of.

But it is looking like that is a possibility.

My parents just tried (also on NTL, live about a mile away) and had same
result

I really can't be bothered to phone India right now

Did you stop the download, close Free Download Manager and then restart the
download? That's what I had to do for it to finish..

Blue Robot

Yes, tried that. It just says........

21:02:17 10/09/2006 Starting download...
21:02:17 10/09/2006 Server can not guarantee its resuming capabilities.
Response is invalid.
21:02:17 10/09/2006 Pause 5 sec.

Unfortunately I cannot help. Several years ago I had lived in Ipswich, MA, but now I am in the St. Louis area.

In my case, I shut it down and turned the computer off overnite
because I had other things to do. Once I booted up, I started
Free Download manger and it went like clockwork.

Do you happen to download to a FAT32 partition ?

No, it's NTFS.

Problem solved (sort of). It seems NTL have a 2gb file download limit which
they don't tell their customers.

I used a BT connection last night and now have the iso.

Thanks to everyone for trying
