ISO File

I find myself in a bit of an awkward situation. My computer is currently
running Windows Vista RC1. I've now downloaded Vista RC2 and want to install
it but must, of course, burn the ISO file to a disc. Unfortunately, none of
my disc burning software, Nero and Roxio, will install on Vista and so my
question is, how do I burn the ISO file image to a DVD?

David, I had exactly the same dilemna. Found ImgBurn and it looks very
promising, particularly reading all the Vista users comments

I burned the new ISO last night using Easy Media Creator 9 under Vista 5728
x64.

But, a quick and dirty solution to your problem that I have used before is
Misbo's "Ultimate" (well, no, but it works) CD/DVD Burner. Works fine under
Vista and is dead simple to use. It's also FREE with no adware, spyware,
etc.

Good luck!

Nero 6 versions work in RC1 5600 build.....but if you already tried to
install Nero 7, then you can't. You can install Nero 6 using the XP SP2
compatibility mode.

A clean install of RC1 then Nero 6. Iam using 6.6.0.13 and also tried
6.6.1.4.

Don't even try Nero 7 because Vista does not do a 100% uninstall.

something all of you should have is resource kit tools for windows 2003 once
you install it.. just copy out the cdburn.exe and dvdburn.exe .. those are
the iso burners (I believe they "only" do iso burns) put them on a usb key
and you have burn abiltity on any windows machine with a CD/DVD burner.. if
you don't find any of the other tools usefull you can then uninstall
resource kit tools provided you copied out the iso burn exe's.

works great in RC1 only a small exe file and you can burn all the iso's you
want... also give a try to "isobuster" which will allow you to extract files
from iso's without burning them. one point of caution there seems to be an
issue with CDBurn.exe and DVDBurn.exe working when run on MCE 2005 because
the MCE services seem to get exlusive access to DVD's etc... I haven't had
this problem on Vista.

Avast say virus detected when I installed it

Gee, that is strange. The link I gave you is directly to the developer's
own site, although the program is available all over the place.

I just downloaded a copy and had AVAST scan BURNSET.EXE and it reports no
problems.

Don't know what to tell you.

Search this message group for ISO DVD burners and you'll find lots of other
suggestions.

Sorry.
