OK - downloaded Vista RC1 to my secondary HD.

Now how do I burn the ISO to a DVD? I have no burning software other than
what came with Vista 5385. I am used to using Nero and an totally lost
without it.

Sugestions anyone?

its a small, very nice and very simple tool to burn isos. It is free and if
you install with right-click the setup "run as Administrator" it runs in
Vista without any problem.

To burn a iso with imgburn is only 4 steps - see the post here titled "Iso
Image"

Nero 6 and 7 does not work with Vista.

Burning the ISO Image in NERO and Roxio Easy CD Creator:

NERO
Insert a Blank DVD, open Nero Start Smart > change the media type to DVD >
select Copy and Backup > click "Burn Image to Disc" > navigate to where the
Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored on your hard disk, (note: if you don't
see it, make sure the image file type is changed to “ISO" click Open and the
burning wizard will automatically start.

Roxio
Open Creator Classic > click File > "Record Disc from Image" > navigate to
where the Windows Vista BETA 2 Image is stored > click Open and the burning
wizard will automatically start.
Ensure that the ISO burns at a low speed, recommended speed, 2x or lower for
best results.

Greetings to the Vista General Message Board,

In reply to a Post here:

Nero 6 version is able to work, it just takes some tweaking..or patience to
work it all out..;)

Well, at least I got the burning of the ISO correct-some things do not
work in Nero 6 though..

Interesting, I still have not gotten an email invitation for RC1-just
wondering if it is because I already downloaded and burned and setup exe
Vista RC1-plus activated at that already..

Would the email still be sent after activation?? I wonder..

Not that I needed the email, thanks to posters here I decided to PRE
execute -)

I did the Beta 2 CPP thing, so I knew my keys..

RC1 appears to be a BIT more stable than the Pre RC1 version thus
far-good tidings!

Audigy 2 sound drivers still a sticking point though-what's with that?

Regards to ALL..

They are still sending out the invitations, so every might not receive
immediately. But as long as you have BETA PK and you activated and
registered, you should be just fine.

I use Ashampoo Burning Studio or whatever they call it. They have a free
trial.

I liked Ashampoo so much I bought it. Not sure on the full retail price but
after a week or so of using the trial I got an email from them with an offer
to buy it at the cut price of £6.99
Its a decent piece of software.

So it playe nicely with Vista RC1?

Yeah it works fine. It even has support for blu-ray burning. Although that
seems a bit premature as I don't think there are any blu-ray burners out
yet?

I used imgburn to burn it and it worked fine. It installed fine on Vista
and is free.
