Usually when you disconnect from dsl then reconnect your ISP gives you
another IP ( you or your router / modem)

usually when you respond to a post it is a good usenet-behavior
*avoiding* unnecessary (full-) quoting (~70 quotinglines snipped).
THX for your kind understanding.

thread?: ''What the President Ordered in This Case Was a Crime"

Well, since you ask, that was not THIS thread, but ANOTHER thread, and
I noticed the OP apologized for posting to the wrong newsgroup BEFORE
anyone commented.

As a practical matter, though, I for one mainly just read the topics
that attract my interest, and I do a whole lot more lurking than I do
posting. It's neither my objective nor my desire to attempt to review
every post for freeware "purity" or to post a reply to EVERY message I
read and might have a thought about. To the best of my ability, I try
to limit my input to useful suggestions or observations rather than
trying to ignite or participate in flame wars.

A reasonable reading of my initial comment to you by a disinterested
third party would likely find that it was not a personal attack but
was, in fact, intended as constructive feedback in the nature of
explaining why nonfreeware recommendations are off topic and
suggesting alternative ways to assist those who are looking for help.
I even said (directly quoting) that it was "not a criticism, but
rather an effort to seek your cooperation (and the cooperation of
other posters by proxy.)"

I hope you take my comments as intended. If not, you can have the
last word, because I feel like there's nothing else for me to add.

Personally, I think your motives were well-intentioned, but obviously
off topic. That's not a criticism, but rather an effort to seek your
cooperation (and the cooperation of other posters by proxy.) Next
time, in a similar situation, you might consider a reply along the
lines of "I don't know of any freeware solutions, but if you Google on
'hide your IP address' you'll find some other options."

And how, exactly, is that supposed to help anyone for christ's sake?

You're still creating traffic for denizens of ACF, with no information
other than how to suck eggs.

Cheers, Phred.

How does someone else doing something wrong mitigate your doing
something wrong? One has nothing to do with the other.

"Do two wrong's ever make a right?" NO!.

Three lefts make a right.

Where do you get the idea I was doing anything wrong?
If you read the OP's later post, he/she was grateful that I
provided info on another product albeit chargeable. I don't
operate in a fascist environment.

You've now taken two l-o-n-g posts (this one at 27 lines) to whinge
at a single ONE line post of mine, even though the OP posted to say
thanks for the info. Get a life.

So you feel that having to follow rules is "fascist". Very juvenile
of you.

When they are silly rules set by self-appointed net stormtroopers.
But that's just my opinion.

If you don't like the rules in this playground, play in another one.
No one is forcing you to stay here.

I'll stay here thanks and post what I like. OK.

If you keep posting recommendations of payware, people will keep
pointing out that you shouldn't. Don't worry, though; they won't
get worked up enough to start slinging names like "fascist" and
"stormtrooper" at you to try to shut you up.

Thanks. Good to hear it was a one-time thing.

I didn't say that. I may do the same again if I believe it would be
of interest or help to the OP, as it was in that instance.
