Is there an image toggler for Firefox?

A friend has a dial-up connection - and would like to browse with images
off - and load them only when necessary.

Suggestions welcomed.

I would also suggest using adblock and filterset.g extensions as this
can prevent adds from being downloaded if you select the correct options
when using it. It also makes browsing a much better experience.

That's really the most basic one you want or need. It doesn't take any
(well, only minimal, resources).

It does just what want you want, and nothing more, and I even
contributed to it, so what else could you want or desire  = ;-))

No, seriously. It does just what you want and nothing else. Prefbar is
a nice extension too, but is does many more things.

With imageshowhide it's just 1 click of the mouse to enable/disable
images.

if you write recommendations that dissapear in 6 days, then it's better
nto to write them at all. Because others may not write them in the
thread if they see you already mentioned them.

Information is for posterity.

Not on Easynews they won't. Might I suggest that you avail yourself of a _real_
NSP?

I heartily suggest (that) you reformat & re-install your personal attitude of
supposed superiority. Such attitude is not beneficial to this group.
Information is for posterity.

Thank you for posting that.

Is there anything that would load (show) one, and only one,
selected image on a page?
A la R-click | Show Image in Netscape 4.

TIA

Would that such a thing were possible. However, so far as I've seen, it's an
all-or-nothing proposition; ignore-all or see-all.

Works will with the imageshowhide extension posted earlier
in the thread.
Ahh .. actually, imageshowhide's FAQ points to
ImageLoader (By Omar Khan), and to
Show Image (By Cheng Khoon) which was updated "Latest version
provides 'show image' functionality in image disabled mode"

Either will do :) .. thanks.

Hey,

Good news. Show Image was updated to load a single image - if
read it right:

Omar Khan has abandoned all extension development. Image Loader, which
he renamed Image-Show-Hide-Load at some point, will not install on
Firefox 1.5.*. He wrote a lot of extensions, and I recommend against
trying to use any of them. If you do manage to get any installed, be
careful -- he usually set the maxversion to 999 so that Firefox will
never disable the extension after an upgrade, which could cause all
sorts of problems.
