Is there a way to stop the virus scan when Excel opens

When Excel opens, it scans the add-ins for a virus even when the security
setting is low. I see no point in rescanning the same add-ins for a virus.
Is there some way to stop this as it slows down the opening of Excel?
 
Check the documentation for your AV software. If you can't find the answer,
post more details about your AV software. Who is the manufacturer? What is
the product name? What version is it? Etc.
