Is there a way to permanently remove Styles sets from top menu?

I really only need about 5 styles settings in MSWord 2007, and want to
permanently remove the others from the styles row. By permanently, I mean as
a permanent Word setting that will apply to all documents I open. I get tired
of constantly having to manually remove the unused styles for each Word doc I
open. Is there a way of doing this?

Thanks for the tip- will look into this.

Do you know if modifying this will force my changes onto documents from
others that I open? I edit documents from multiple co-workers, and so I would
like to enforce my own Style settings onto the docs they send me, thus saving
me the time of having to enforce my settings on their docs.

Thanks.

No - any styles that users have used in their documents will be present when
you open them. You could attach your template with the update styles box
checked, but it will only affect the styles in the document that have the
same names as those in your template.

If co-workers are working on the same documents it would be better if all
sang from the same hymn sheet from the outset by creating the documents that
they are collectively working on from the same document template(s) to which
you all have access (NOT NORMAL.DOT which may not be shared)
