A style called "Char Char1" has appeared

Word 2002:

I think this started when I copied a smal portion of text from another
document, since then it seems to have "infected" my template because it now
appears in new documents. If I delete it it disappears until I save and
reload the document when it apepars again. This permanently occupies the
"Styles and formatting" box on the toolbar (the one with the "AA" symbol
before it) and so makes it impossible for me to place the cursor on a piece
of text to see what style is applied to it ("Heading 1" etc).
How do I permanently remove this unwanted style? I have tried a macro found
elsewhere on this site but that didn't do it.

Hello Codgie
I think this started when I copied a smal portion of text from another
document, since then it seems to have "infected" my template because it now
appears in new documents. If I delete it it disappears until I save and
reload the document when it apepars again. This permanently occupies the
"Styles and formatting" box on the toolbar (the one with the "AA" symbol
before it) and so makes it impossible for me to place the cursor on a piece
of text to see what style is applied to it ("Heading 1" etc).
How do I permanently remove this unwanted style? I have tried a macro found
elsewhere on this site but that didn't do it.
