How do I get rid of custom quick styles?

I've tried hiding them, removing them from the gallery, and deleting them,
but they always reappear when I open a new document.

What I really want is to delete them permanently. I know how to delete
custom quick style SETS (I know where they're stored on the computer), but
not custom quick styles.

In the Styles pane (Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S), click Manage Styles. Click
Import/Export to display the Organizer dialog box, and use it to delete the
style from your template.
