Is there a Powerpoint 2000 upgrade to attach mp3 music?

I have XP, my MS office is 2000. I want to put together a slide presentation
and attach music (mp3) to it. PP2000 can only read .wav files. I also have
MS Plus Photo Story, however that doesn't allow backgrounds such as PP has.
Is there an update I can purchase to incorporate mp3 music to my existing
Powerpoint (2000 SR-1) software?

You don't need an add-in. How are you trying to add music? Use the Insert
method. Click on Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sound from file.

Hello:
I'm John and I have the same question as you seem to have but am using PP
2002. I can give you a way to insert sound in PP 2002 and you can see if it
works on your version of PP. In the toolbar, select "insert", "movies &
sounds" and then "sounds from a file". Brouse your way to where you have
stored your music files and select your tune. The tune will be added to the
slide that you started from. It's not the best but it might work in your
version. . .
