Is there a log to show me what's hanging on shutdown?

XP was hanging on shutdown, and I finally traced it to a USB device (the XPR
satellite radio receiver). If I unplug the XPR Windows shuts down normally.
If I don't unplug it, I get the "Windows is shutting down" screen forever.

I've looked everywhere and cannot find any process that XPR runs that's not
shutting down with Windows. And their tech support couldn't think of any.

So I'm wondering if there's some kind of Log file I can have running through
shutdown that will record what shut down and what didn't shut down.

Any ideas?

p.s.: I've removed everything else from the system, and it's definitely the
XPR. I've also checked msconfig, but couldn't find anything there either.

Hi Terry,

This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.

This edit allows you to configure Windows so that you receive verbose
startup, shutdown, logon, and logoff status messages. This may be helpful to
in troubleshooting slow startup, shutdown, logon, or logoff behaviour.
