Is there a difference between rtf files saved in MS Word or Wordpa

I have an already formated text document in rtf format to translate.
The customer wants to translate it by using wordpad and save it in rtf format.

The question I have is: if I open it with a word document (Microsoft word
2002), translate it and then save it again in rtf format. Is there any
difference between these two rtf files (One processed with wordpad and the
other one processed with Word)? All these in Windows xp professional -sp2
environment.

They are different in the sense that Wordpad is less powerful than Word, so
some Word features will not be understood by WordPad - for example, I
wouldn't put much effort into careful formatting until I had the final text
back from the customer. However, simple experiments here suggest that the
current version of WordPad is more powerful than I remember, e.g. it can do
a. nested tables
b. RTL text

I would simply experiment with the layouts you are using and verify that
anything you are doing such as using special Greek fonts or some such copy
correctly in both directions. If the customer is using an earlier version of
Windows you'll probably need to verify that everythign works when you pass
material to and fro.

Even if there is a problem with RTF, as long as you can open their text in
your WordPad, you should be able to cut/paste between Word and WordPad
