Is the Outlook 2003 Email cache a seperate file?

I am upgrading the hardware on a user with Outlook 2003, and need to copy the
email cache to the new computer. If the check box for caching is checked,
the system shows over 500 new emails on the new system. All those emails
were read on the old system, and cached.

Cached mode exchange uses the OST file. Don't forget to look for PST
file(s) since some users like to export, backup, and/or use the archive
engine.

There are no OST files on the old system, which had the cache enabled. There
is the archive.pst, and several OAB files with todays date stamp.

Search the drive again since cached mode has to have an *.OST. (Remember
that Windows 2000 & XP will not traverse hidden/system directories until
Windows Explorer is confirmed to show all hidden/system files and/or
especially with XP, that you configure the search to look for hidden/system
files.)

Another way to find the *.OST if the old system is still operational is to
start Outlook. Right click on Outlook Today/Mailbox <username> and select
properties. Select Advanced button. Go to Advanced tab and look at the
offline folder settings.
