Outlook Express is no longer available with Vista. Vista comes with
"Windows Mail"

You can use Windows Mail for reading Newsgroups just as you could with
Outlook Express.

Or download a stand alone News Reader. There are a multitude of News
Readers out there, and as many opinions for each one.

I personally use Xnews

Hope this helps

My copy has something called Windows Mail which is,
as far as I can tell, indistinguishable from Outlook Express.
I am using it now to access this group.

Go tools/accounts and setting up News groups is straight forward.

In fact... the Microsoft groups were there by default.

Beware the upgrade , DO NOT DO IT , yes I believe it has been replaced with
windows mail . The only thing I don`t like is there is no place to store your
mail other than keeping it in your inbox . Outlook Express had a My Mail
folder which you could keep mail in with things you would want to retrieve or
look at later on .

Why not just create a folder within local folders called My Mail?

Well christ, just create yourself a few more folders and name 'em whatever
you want. I've got at least 40 that I drop stuff into all the time. I
never leave anything in my inbox!

So here is a question.. can you two different email programs for the same
email account? And do you know if you have to uninstall microsoft office 2003
and reinstall it after installing Vista? I believe I read that on here some
where.

So you must not have been happy with the upgrade I take it?

Thanks for your help!

So here is a question, (second try last time I forgot a few key words, long
day)
can you have two different programs for the same email address? And do you
have to uninstall Microsoft Office 2003 and reinstall it after installing
Vista? I believe I read a question about that some where on here a few days
ago.

Thanks for your knowledge!

Yes, You can use, for instance, Outlook and Thunderbird although one may
lock out the other
temporarily if used absolutelty simultaneously.

Not sure, but it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Two email clients can reside on the same machine in Vista, though mail would have to left on the server to see the messages once downloaded to the other client. Note: leaving messages on the server is usually restricted to clients that support Pop3 mail protocol.

You have a higher chance of success installing Office 2003 after a Vista install.

That link you posted is for a Macintosh version of Outlook Express. Make
sure you know what you doing before recommending anything!

A previous version of Outlook Express cannot be installed in Vista!

Just what do you plan to do with it? OE won't install in Vista.

It's still there, it's a slightly revised version and it's now called
Windows Mail. If you can configure OE you'll find Windows Mail will
configure very similarly.
