Hi
I recently tried to reinstall Win XP however after
formatting i reinstalled XP but during installation i kept
getting Hardware errors popping up and when the
installation had installed XP did not recognise my CD
player it listed as driver less.

The error for the hardware happened during driver
instalation or about that time.

So i try again this time it finishes installing and i keep
getting blues screens so i try again and have the hardware
fault again and XP didnt load after installtion instead
taking me to a blue screen and then restsarting computer.

Does this mean that my XP cd is damaged and needs
replaceing??? as it isnt working proplery or is there
another reason???

It was a XP installtion to a New HD so thats not the
problem as it happened on an old HD i had as well.

The comp im currently using i installed W98 on it so i can
post here and seems to be having no problems which als
mekes me think that it is indeed the CD.

Any ideas??
thnx alot for yr help

Is this the first time you've used the XP Install CD? If it's the first time, from what you describe, I would want to find another XP CD just to see if it made a difference.

From where did you get the CD? I've heard that some 'pirated' versions have bugs on them.

At the same time, if the XP Install CD is authentic, any problems it would show would probably result in the install hanging somewhere - not completing but with lots of problems - as you are finding.
