Is my mouse gone bad?

Hey folks,

A lot of times when I click something, it acts as though I double
clicked it. I've downloaded the latest driver, checked all my
settings and all and I can't figure out the problem. Maybe it's time
for new mouse?? I have a 2 and a half year old Microsoft Optical wheel
mouse.
