Hi Guys

I always get amazing help in here so i'm trying my luck - does anyon
know if it is possible to open an access .mde file in anyway??
When I try and open my file in access 2000 the option to open is no
available and when I try to convert it says 'you can't convert o
enable a mde file'

I know you guys are great on excel, but can anyone offer any advice o
this one??

My fingers are crossed.

Dav

Dave,

I have very little experience with Access, but if you ask whehter it is
possible to open an access file with Excel, I suppose so.
When you select the openfile button from Excel you can select a file type.
One of these type IS .mde.

I don't know however which functionality you lose when you do so.
Maybe someone else will shed more light on this but if not I hope this will
help you.

Hi

AFAIK a .mde file cannot be opened in Excel. Standard Access files (.mdb)
can but a .mde is a compiled executable Access database. If you can get hold
of the .mdb from within the .mde then you're laughing.

Dave,

Not an access user, but why not go back to your master mdb file (you have
kept a master I assume?) and create a new mde in Access 2000 (if indeed that
Access 2000 still supports mde).
