Actually it's a clean install (Dell) and it crashes and
gives the message that the system has recovered from a
major error. I played with the virtual memory a bit as
outlined in KB article 810093 and now the error message
says PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGE_AREA .
The computer did have the klez worm on it at one time,
which I removed along with several adware, spyware and
bloatware programs. Perhaps a RAM issue? It is a Dell.
Thanks.

I've had several clients with new Dell workstations come up with this
problem recently and in all cases, it was bad RAM. In all cases,
running the Dell diagnostics showed nothing. In all cases, it took
being on the phone with Dell Indian tech support for hours to get new
RAM sent out. You'll just need to persevere.

Thanks. I had my suspicions, but I've dreaded dealing with
their tech "support". Looks like the next best option at
this point. Sigh.
