my computer often shuts down with an error message,
especially when i am on-line. the error message is quick
but i believe it says IRQL error. is this some conflict
between windows xp and juno? i would appreciate ANY
assistance. if you could e-mail me ([email protected])
that would be great since it is difficult for me to stay
on for any length of time.
thank you.

Sorry, no free email support. Also, posting your real email address in a
newsgroup or on a messageboard is not a good idea. The spambots will
harvest it and you'll get tons of spam. There are several error
messages that begin with IRQ... You may be having some problems with
drivers. Have you added any hardware? Updated drivers for the modem
from Windows Update(not a good idea)? What changed between the time
things worked and the time they didn't? You could also have a virus or
spyware. There are a lot of reasons you could be having this problem,
and unfortunately you haven't provided enough information for anyone to
give you specific advice. Here are generic troubleshooting steps for
you:

1) Scan with current antivirus ("current" means a version not earlier
than 2002 but using updated virus definitions); 2) remove spyware with
Spybot Search & Destroy (www.security.kolla.de) and Ad-aware
(www.lavasoftusa.com). Be sure to update these programs before running,
and it is a good idea to do virus/spyware scans in Safe Mode; 3) delete
temporary and Temporary Internet Files; 4) stop unnecessary services
programs from starting with Windows - see www.blackviper.com for
services info and www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm for programs
info - 5) look in Event Viewer for clues.

After you're sure your computer is clean, if you're still having
problems please repost, including details about your system and what
you've already done to troubleshoot.

Happy Holidays,

Malke
