I have Windows XP Home on my home computer after upgrading from 98. The ASUS
mobo has always had a difficult time resolving IRQ conflicts. I was hoping
that XP would fix the problem. Now all of my PCI cards are assigned IRQ 9 and
the video card doesn't want to share with the sound card. After listening to
mp3 for 25 seconds, the sound cuts out but I can still access the sound
levels and all other audio card features. I can't change the IRQ in Device
Manager. There's plenty of IRQ available. How do I resolve this without
reformating my hard drive to reinstall XP?
