My eldest daughter pre-ordered an iPhone5 this evening - you're all fashion victims!

So, Dad, what's your phone?

Me: HTC Wildfire

Eldest offspring: So what's it like?

Me: Crap

Senior daughter-san: I rest my case.

Hmmmph

Yes but Mr Flopp's the Wildfire is crap, possibly one of the worst phones out there, its underpowered and the screen resolution was crippled from the start, it was never going to be anything other than just a phone for calling people was that one..Now my HTC One is a different matter entirely..:D

True dat, I know lots of HTC phone users happy with their purchase who sing the praises of Android. Seems I managed to pick the only turkey HTC ever produced

I wonder if Virgin would entertain a swap with my contract still running til May '13? probably not, so soon I shall buy a new or used phone of my choice and go Sim Card Only deal when current contract expires.

As for the iPhone 5, anybody care to point out the real differences/improvements from previous models so far rumoured/unveiled? Apart from having a new model number? ;)

Envirophone will give me £300 for my 32Gb 4S...... :)

Though i'm not sure i'm going to get one. the new dock connector will be a pain in the ass. I have docks everywhere. both my desk at home and work, car connector, speaker docks... Yes there's an adaptor, but have you seen it!? Its hideous! lol

I wonder how much Enviriphone (whoever they are) will give me for my Wildfire? Ten shillings and sixpence? ;)

Actually, looking at Ebay, seems I'd get at least £80.00 for it, still got the box and all bits n bobs.

So that's good eh? I'd only have to lash out another £450.00 and I'd be the proud owner of the bottom of the line i5 Phone.

Sooper! :)

I have three I-Pod docks in Chez Flops, iHome clock radio; kitchen and living room I-Pod docks so I don't think a change of dock would bother me much.

I wonder why Apple changed the docking device? I've got it! So they make more money selling loads of cables & docks. A wonderful business strategy :D

I might have just lost the plot. Had iPhone 4 and broke it. So carried on using my iPhone 3gs. Vodafone called to say I can upgrade and I went for the Samsung Galaxy S2 :D

iPhone 5 pre-orders crack 2 million in first 24 hours

We told you Apple would likely provide numbers for those "incredible" iPhone 5 pre-orders. The company tells us that it notched two million pre-orders in the first 24 hours, more than twice as many as the million it recorded for the iPhone 4S last year and over three times the iPhone 4's figures. Many of those online purchases that missed launch day now won't arrive until October. Yes, it would almost be a shock if Appledidn't shatter any records given the size of its existing user base, but the scale of demand suggests you just might want to get in line Friday morning if you're bent on getting an iPhone 5 on launch day.
