Ip4600 normal paper tray ¿how it works?

Finnaly I got a canon ip4600, but there's no way to get the normal paper
tray to catch any paper.

The pictures on the manual don't show the real size of tray versus D4 paper.
And there is no limit of how deep is to squeeze the tray in.

Are there any manual for dummies. :p

With the other tray no problem. But the question about black ink....

When print automatic double side, both sides are gray text, not only the
second. :(

I'm not sure I understand your question. I don't know what d4 paper
is, but if you mean A4, the tray must be expanded to accommodate A4
paper IIRC. This information is from older models and might not apply
to the ip4600.

As explained in another post, duplex mixes dye black with pigment
black for duplex mode. This makes the dry time quicker and makes it
so the ink doesn't bleed through the paper. It also allows you to
print on more paper. If you must have the absolute blackest ink there
might be an aftermarket solution. KMP pigment ink I'm told is
actually an improvement over Canon pigment ink, but I've not used it.
There is a double black dye ink available from Image Specialists but I
don't know the model number off the top of my head.

I've used much aftermarket ink in my canons, but I've not used KMP nor
Image Specialists double black dye ink. There is no chip resetter yet
for the ip4600, so if you do pour in bulk ink, the printer won't tell
you if they are empty.

Yes I want to say A4 (DinA4). But I don't know how expand the tray. In a
spanish newsgroup an user with the ip4500 show me how do it with his
printer, but the ip4600 seems to have a diferent tray.

I plan to buy a laser color duplex printer this summer, I think I can go
sometime with this printer. Black is gray(in duplex mode) but is perfectly
readable.

Thanks

For laughs, this is a link to a site that sells the bulk ink in
Germany
http://www.tintenalarm.de/kmp-tinte-c-653_647_2915.html
They have it for 30EUR / liter, or 7EUR / 100ml.

I've not tried this ink, but I'm told it's blacker than Canon OEM.
This may help to make your duplex printing less grey.

I double checked and Image Specialists WJ1109 is about as black as
OEM, so I don't see this would help. I don't have a European source
for this anyway.
