IP configuration on Server 2003

I've just built a new server using SBS 2003 and am using 2 NIC's to take advantage of it's DHCP. I have a Linksys router using dhcp to pass IP to 4 machines in my home. I want to set up my server for study purposes and move 1 machine on the other side of the server. ( Cable modem to Router to Server to Workstation 1) I have assigned the following IP info to NIC #1 as my 'internet connection'.
IP: 192.168.1.
Sub: 255.255.255.
Gate: 192.168.1.1 (linksys
DNS: 206.165.131.12 and 206.165.131.1

If I'm going to pass IP back out NIC #2 - generated by 2003's DHCP I assume - what IP do I use for that 2nd NIC? And does this NIC become another router? Does it's IP become the gateway for workstation 1 on the local network? I gave it IP 192.168.1.5 and used the same subnet, gateway and dns - but received a message about different networks, etc

I assume it's something simple I'm missing, but I also don't really understand the 2 NIC's in one machine either. Thank you for your help

The second network needs to have a different network ID or you won't be able
to route packets. Use any IP you want that is not in the 192.168.1.x
range.

You won't be able to use the Linksys to pass IP addresses to the second
network. It does not have that functionality.
You can use 2K3s DHCP service and enable routing or set up 2k3 as a NAT
device and let NAT handle the IP addressing.
