involuntary reboot

I recently upgraded to 2000 pro and now my computer
constantly reboots itself. I have set power options so
that the monitor and hard drive never shut off. This is
irritating in that whatever I don't save is lost. When
the reboot is completed the screen comes up with a safe
screen which requires a click to restore the original
desktop. Any ideas? Thanks, Boyd

Looks like the upgrade went bad. Before trying a clean install:
a.) Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Advanced | Startup and Recovery | uncheck "Automatically Reboot. You will need at
least 2M Virtual Memory on the system root partition. This will show you the fatal errors causing Windows to reboot. While in
Windows, inset the Windows 2000 CD, provided you haven't upgraded to a higher service pack and install an upgrade over your existing
Windows 2000. If you achieve some stability, good but if not then you will most likely have to install clean.
