BLUE STOP SCREENS

PowerSpec 9140a Desktop XP Pro w/SP2 and all updates nVidia card ti4600 120
Mb HD 1024 RAM...

I've seen three different blue stop screens since an involuntary restart
earlier today:

1--KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR
***STOP 0x00000077 (0xC0000015, 0xC0000015, 0x00000000, 0x00000000,
oxo2951000)

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.
The system has been shut down.

2--STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows logon process terminated unexpectedly with a status of
0xc0000006 (0x00000000, 0x00000000)

3--STOP: c0000221 {Bad Image Checksum}
The image WINTRUST.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not
match the computed checksum.

The above, 3--STOP:, is all that I can get now, even when trying to restart
in safe mode. Can someone help me? I was using iTunes when the first blue
screen appeared, then was using iTunes only after successfully restarting --
it eventually crashed leaving me with blue screen 3-- now.

Can I fix this if I can't reboot in either mode? Can the corrupted file be
downloaded somewhere if I can't find the program disk? Recent hardware
change was installation of a digital 21" ViewSonic flat panel monitor.

This is scary -- I have lots of data on my HD : / THANKS in advance for all
help!

Check that version of wintrust.dll in system32 folder is
5.131.2600.2180 with a modified date of 4 August 2004 size 173 kb.

You could try Start, Run, type "sfc /scannow" without quotes and hit
Enter.

Description of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 System File
Checker (Sfc.exe)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310747

To run sfc / scannow you need a Window XP CD which includes the SP2
update. If your CD is pre SP2 you will need to create a slip
streamed
copy of Windows XP with SP2 included.

Hope this helps.

Bottom Line: I can't get past the blue screen at this point, so I can't get
to the desktop to try scannow or check file versions, though I really
appreciate the advice and attempt to help me. I could try to run the repair
tool on the bootable floppies. I'm also willing to make a bootable CD from
www.bootdisk.com for $4 -- my notebook does not have an "A" drive : / As far
as slipstreaming since my program disks are pre-SP2, that advice went right
over my head -- a mite too advanced for me.

Any advice as to which is best?

Thank you!
