Invisible account in Outlook 2007

I attempted to set up an account and for some reason the setup hung. Outlook
stopped respondingso I closed the application and restarted. I proceeded to
setup the exact same account again, this time successfully.

My problem is now I have an unnamed folder and inbox that I cannot delete
and am receiving messages stating tht the folder cannot be deleted because it
is associated with an e-mail account, but the account does not show up in teh
account list.

Any idea how I can remove the "Invisible" account and it's associated
folder, inbox and pst file?

Thanks.

Thanks Diane.

This did indeed work, However I just want to clarify this for others who
might experience this. By deleting the profile, you will lose all mail,
notes, contact , calendar data from other accounts unless you back up the PST
file so you can import the data later.

Nope. Deleting a mail profile in no way affects the Outlook data. And
Importing from a PST is never the proper way to restore data to Outlook.

Brian,

Please enlighten us. When I deleted the profile that contained the
"Invisible" account, I received a message indicating that all account
information and data would be lost.

What is the correct way to restore Outlook data?

Thanks,

Which profile, the Windows profile or the Outlook mail profile? The message
above indicates to me that it's the former and deleting a Windows user will,
of course, delete all the data that Windows profile has.

File>Open>Outlook Data File. See this:
