Inverted drive letter designation

I have experienced a HD crash (“C†Drive) and replaced it with a new EIDE
80Gb. When I installed it, the HD formatted and Windows installed on it. I
also have a secondary HD where I store my data.

After I powered on my computer, I noticed that Windows installed on my “Dâ€
drive and that my data is now accessible on my “C†drive. I have tried every
possible ways to jumper my HDs, i.e., using CS and master/slave
configurations, to designate my 80 Gb drive as the “C†drive and the 20 Gb as
the “D†drive, there is nothing to do, Windows directory is always displayed
on my “D†drive and my data is always shown as been in my “C†drive. Note
also that I have tried connecting my drive in every possible ways on the
controller cable, i.e., 80 Gb on the end/master connector and the 20 Gb on
the slave connector. Note also that my BIOS indicates that my 80 Gb is the
primary HD, and the 20 Gb is the secondary HD.

What can I do to configure my HDs, so that they appear as before or in a
standard configuration, i.e., my 80 Gb as the “C†drive with windows on it,
and my 20 Gb as my “D†drive with its data on it?
