i got a new acer laptop from bestbuy.ca w/ a vista home premium in it and
prod key # stickr on the bottm of the unit.along w/ it was a disk of windows
anytime upgrade(vista).recently i reinstalled vista on my new acer laptop
just t find out how to install vista and of course it asked me for a prod.
key.naturally, what i gave was the one found on the bottom of the laptop.but
then after complete reinstallation,a window keeps popping up saying the prod.
key i typed was invalid and kept presenting me 3 options on how to correct it
either, by phone, online, etc. it really is annoying because it pops up now &
then, and i know that what i've got is genuine.help.

You can reset your Windows Vista activation by performing the following:

1. Click on the Start button and in the Start Search box type in: slui.exe 4

2. Press the Enter key on your keyboard.

3. Select your Country.

4. Follow the instructions for phone activation.

5. Once completed, restart your computer.

Afterward, please visit http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;931573
and download & install the recommended update. Restart your computer and
visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/ and click on Validate Windows.
