Hello.
Whenever I start up my system I get:
Invalid BOOT.INI file
Booting from c:\windows\
and then the system boots up. What's going on here and
how do I correct it?
Thanks,
--Chris.

Post back with more details on your system, hard disks, where XP is
installed and etc. You can edit the BOOT.INI file manually.

Right click My Computer, select Properties, Advanced, Startup and Recovery,
Settings. In the System startup section click the Edit button.

A typical BOOT.INI file for a system with one hard disk, and XP installed on
C: is:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP"
/fastdetect

Open msconfig.exe, go to the boot.ini tab and "check all boot paths".
