Internet what...?

I have been using XP for about 6 months now. I also have
IE 6 and AOL Broadband. All of them have worked pretty ok
for me. However, over the last 2 weeks or so, each time I
shut down my system and then come back later to use it, I
notice after logging on that several Internet Explorer
windows are open, and that IE has attempted to connect to
the internet. I have a external broadband DSL modem, but
I don't even keep it plugged in unless I'm going online.

Any suggestions on how to stop this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx,

Go to START --> RUN and type MSCONFIG

Under the STARTUP tab check off any suspicious programs that are
automatically starting when you boot up (including IE) and that should help.

I hope this is a help.
