Can anyone tell me how to get the headphone jacks of my cd-
rom/ cd rewritable/recordable drives to work?

Each time I plug in my 'phones, nothing happens; my cd's
play their music/sounds out of the regular speakers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi,

Stupid question, but I've got to ask: Have you tried the volume slider on
the drive yet?

Basically, that jack is a function of the drive, it's not something
controlled by Windows. Check that you have the right type of headphone jack,
as it should work automatically. Did it ever work?

If I recall correctly the phone jack on the CD drive does not work if you
have selected digital audio for the drive. Look at the drive properties in
Device Manager. Or, right click on the Taskbar volume icon and select Adjust
Audio Properties. Select Hardware tab and then your drive. Click on
Properties button and then Properties tab.

.
Thanx for all of your suggestions and help guys; however
(and unfortunately), nothing has seemed to work...I think
I'll just get desktop speakers with a headphone jack
in 'em.

Thanx again.
