deleted items...

Is there any way at all to retreive data once it has been
deleted? Just curious, because I have been trying for
days to delete items that have been inserted onto my
system through spyware of some sort (that alone has made
my computing life all hell), and each time I delete them,
they only come back a few minutes later. Anyway, I
accidentally deleted two folders from my favorites folder
with every site I actually want to visit, and I'm
wondering if there's any way to get them back. Any help
is appreciated.

Thanx : )

Hi -

The accidentally deleted files might still be recoverable.

First . . . avoid do anything on your computer that would cause
anything to be written to the disk where the deleted folders used to
reside.

Second, go to http://www.undelete.com/downloads/menu.asp and look for
the Deleted File Analysis Utility download. Get this utility --
preferably download it from another computer and copy it onto a floppy
disk, to avoid writing to the disk where the deleted folders were.

Third, run the Deleted File Analysis Utility to see if the folders
(and the files in them) can be recovered. If the utility comes up with
positive results, you can recover the files with Undelete from
Executive Software (available at www.undelete.com).

Regarding the spyware . . . Ad-aware from Lavasoft
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) is one program that's used and
recommended by many. It should take care of the re-appearing files.

I hope this helps -
