Internet Timeout error

I am unable to view web sites I get Internet Timeout Error, either ie6
and firefox, running xp, no antivirus or firewall, wireless to a d
link. Other machines in house can access web no problem. I was able to
update adaware and spybot. I got onto google.co.uk am able to search
but when I click on the links or type url into address bar I get the
above message. All help appreciated.

Your TCP/IP setup is probably damaged. There is a complex set of instructions
for rebuilding TCP/IP, (or do a Repair setup of XP)

thanks, I don't have the original xp cd because dell didn't supply one
and because the machine is a few years old they won't supply one
without charging me. btw I was able to access the web for about 5
minutes after running spybot and adaware.
