Internet - this page can not be diplayed

received this message / went to tools / internet
options / changed the home page / clicked apply and OK /
then rebooted computer / still would not work . /
received error maessage that says . you are not connected
to internet explorer / checked all wirers to computer and
modom / everything was fine . I have cable hook up . If
anyone has any other suggestions . I would greatly
appreciated it.

Are all web pages down?
Does email work?
Do you get an ip address and what is it when internet is not working?
Do other browsers work?
Do you have a firewall or router?
