internet options

i am a novice pc user,and have a problem accsseing internet options in
explorer 7 and in control panel,i use to be able to access tools in the tool
bar in xp7 so i could change my security settings e.t.c.but after trying to
change my settings in set programs access+defaults,i know i have done
something wrong.i am useing windows xp,with explorer 7.zonealarm/avest
antivirus\spybot search+destroy.i have tryed all the things i have read in
microsoft help groups.but have no luck.when ever i click on the internet
options folder it just flickers for a second,but does not open.also there is
2 pop up icons on the lower part off my xp7 browser.by following the help
pages i have readed.i have tryed inetcpl.cpl+gpedit.msc.but this is like
trying to fix something i know i will never be able to do by myself

It "reads" like a malware infection to me.. they will block Internet
Options from running.

Download Malwarebytes, install, update the definitions, and run. That's
easier than it reads; just click the following link, save the file to
the Desktop where you can double-click the icon, and install it.

thanks for your help pa bear,what would you do,what do i need to change in spybot settings,as i said i did alter the settings in access+default when i opened it,and just dont rember what i did.its driveing me grazy trying to fix the problem.it helps when you have half an idea.twiky22

hello pa bear.i have tryed to reset my settings in spybot/search+destroy,but
can,t see anything wrong.can you surggest anything else for me to try twiky22
