Internet Options with Desktop Icon

Some how I lost my abitlity to get right to the Internet Options by right
clicking on the IE Desktop icon.. how can I restore this function??

What happens when you right-click the icon and choose Properties?

Brings up IE Properties, the one with three tabs
General/Shorcut/Compatibiltiy .. Internet Options isn't an option when right
clicking....

Then, it's not a special icon, just a shortcut.

For Windows XP:

Right-click Desktop, Properties
From the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop
Put a checkmark near Internet Explorer
