Internet Options Advanced tab missing

Using XP home on my desktop and went to Internet Options in the tool bar and I do not have an Advanced Tab. Have searched MS site trying to figure out if this is turned on or off in some setting however no luck. This all happened when suddenly I was not able to search from the address bar. I checked the help info on that and it said to go to Internet Options and then the Advanced tab. Checked out the versions on Windows 2000 on my lap top and it there. Any suggestions?
