Internet only 1/2 shared??

I am sharing a 56k connection to a few computers. The
computer that actually dials up to the internet can browse
all of the internet sites; however, the networked
computers can only browse certain sites. Sites such as
Altavista.com, MSN.com, and many others cannot be reached
by the networked computers...while other sites such as
Google.com and AOL.com are accessed normally and quickly.
I shared the same connection by dialing up with a
different computer and everything works fine. So the
problem is specific to this computer. Anybody have any
idea what in the world I can do to fix this little
headache?

That's a common problem with shared DSL connections that use PPP Over
Ethernet (PPPoE). Here are some possible fixes for the PPPoE problem,
and they might work with a shared 56k connection, too:

1. Install Windows XP Service Pack 1 on the computer that actually
dials up to the Internet.

or:

2. Find the right MTU setting on the client computers, as shown here:

and then make the setting manually on the client computers, or use
DrTCP to make it:
