Internet not functioning

I can connect to my ISP but cannot open e-mail or
explorer. If I manage to open explorer it will go to the
MSN home page but will not download it....it freezes and
then goes offline.

Please help. I have checked with ISP and all connections
etc. are fine and computer shows as functioning at their
end.

You might check the internal (infernal) firewall XP comes
with. Often times that will cause connection issues.
