Internet (IP) Camera

I was trying to configure an internet camera on Windows XP and was able to
hook it up to the local network but could not make it accessible to the
internet. I am using a dial-up connection to access the internet for this
camera. I have already shared the connection and used private ip addressing
for the camera and host pc. The internet connection is shared and firewall is
also disabled so no problem in that too. How do I access it using the IP
address assigned to me by the ISP?

How do I do port forward? By the way I have hooked up the camera to the PC
with the help of a cross cable without any router or switch. Thanks for the
reply.
