Internet Images

I just purchased a computer wih a SXGA+ monitor. After looking up the recommended resolution (1400x1050), the scale on the "display" option under the control panel wont let me change the resolution to that. I dont know if this is the reason why, but all i Know is that the font on the internet pages are clear but the images are extremely blurry...please hel
