My status bar holding the Internet Icon has gone, how do
I correct this? Thanks

If your status bar is not visible, click on View in the menu bar. Then,
click Status Bar to turn it back on.

Are you sure it is gone or just hidden. Put your cursor at the bottom edge
and see if you can drag it out.

Otherwise, go to Start > Settings > Taskbar and Start Menu Properties.
Uncheck "Auto hide"

Try right clicking on your status bar. Make sure there
is a check mark next to the "Standard Buttons" option.
If there is not a check mark next to it, left click on
the "Standard Buttons" icon to put a check mark next to
it and the icons should come back.

If you mean the status bar at the bottom of the screen,

go to View - and click beside the words status bar. It
should appear then. Let me know if this works.

Up on top next to "file", "edit", click the "view"
button, and you will see where it says: "Status Bar",
click that.

This may help, download Tweak UI from
http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstation/downloads/PowerToys/
Networking/NTTweakUI.asp and use the repair Icon facility.

On the IE toolbar, click "View" then check the option
Status Bar

click on view and the check "status bar". this is the
status bar at the bottom of the page. hope this helps.
