I have been experiencing problems accessing the net
through my browser, when I type in the URL it comes back
with page not found, Outlook Express and also Messenger
do not work. If however I use an IP address instead of
the URL then it works and when I ping from the command
prompt using ip that works.

So far the only way I have been able to solve it is by
reinstalling my OS (ME) this worked for a while but now
the problem is back. My ISP seems to think it could be a
problem with my OS. Any ideas anyone..

What happens if you ping using names which are not in your HOSTS?
Doesn't work? Then that means your DNS addresses are incorrect
or, if they are correct that your lookup requests are not being satisfied.

Your ISP should have checked this with you.
