and the winsock up date for xp did nothing

OK Jeff
Do this for me tonight
A. Double click on the two computer icons in your ayatray
(lower right of the screen)then click "support" and note
the IP address of your connection
B. In a DOS window, type Ping www.yahoo.co
IF both tests are successful then your connection to the
internet is working and it may be that your winsock is
damaged
Let me know the result tonight and I'll look for your pos
(after 8EST)..

Hi Jeff,
Sorry to ehar that you're still struggeling.
You say that the ping to www.yahoo.com didn't work.
That would mean that your internet connection does not
work.
Is there any other program that connects to the internet,
like Outlook express, etc.? Do these programs work with
your connection ?
let's keep working on this !
