When I am in IE and click the X in the upper right to close that web page
out, IE goes to about:blank and then it ask me to send error report. Does
anyone know how to stop this from happening? Thanks,

before you clicked the X, were there multiple IE buttons in the task
bar? if so, another possibility might be that the window really closed
when you click the X, and right there in it's place is another IE window
(that was underneath all along) for about:blank.

i don't know if a popup/popunder blocker would stop this particular
pest, but IE-Spyad is good for loading many undesirable web sites into
your IE list of Restricted Sites (in the Security tab of IE options), as
well as method described in the following :
