Web Page was hijacked!

Hi All,
I'm having a problem, hopefully someone here can help or steer
me in the right direction....

I run a Spyware program. This morning it displayed a message saying my web
page had been changed to about:blank and asked if I wanted to use that or my
original web page. I selected my regular web page and clicked OK.

A few minutes later the same message popped up and I selected OK again....

Well it seems that my web page has been "hijacked" by this about:blank
thing. I don't know where it came from but I can't change it or get rid of
it.....

I have gone to IE/Tools and typed in my web page and clicked Apply, but it
changes back to about:blank as soon as I closed IE.

I have run regedit and searched for Startup Page and it showed about:blank
in the value line. I changed that to my web page and closed regedit but the
problem persists. I've run regedit, deleted that value all together and
re-boots, but the saga goes on.

I've looked around the web for a solution, checked the MS Knowledge Base all
to no avail..... When ever I open by browser, it takes me to this Search For
page with a URL of about:blank.

Any hope for me? Or am I doomed!

Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

You did not mention what spyware program your running, so
I'll suggest Ad-Aware from lavasoftusa.com. Run your
spyware prgm in safe mode to get the extra stuff your not
getting in normal mode. Run the spyware pgm repeatedly
until the spyware pgm returns with no new results. Also
make sure your getting the updates to your spyware pgm.
Change your default web page by right mouse clicking your
IE icon > properties andmake the change there.
