INTERNET EXPLORER

When I click on Internet Explorer, the warning listed
below keeps coming up. I cannot seem to change my Home
Page from this message. I have done several scans with
my Norton Anti-virus and used Spy Blocker from Total
Access (Earthlink) as well as trying to correct Registry
keys and cannot seem to solve this problem. Any ideas?

It's spyware from a company trying to sell you "evidence eliminator"
software.

Download and run Spybot from here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/

Make sure you check for and install updates before you run the scan,
and delete anything it finds.

Good Luck...

It sounds like you have an adware component/homepage hijacker running on
your system which is generating these messages. In other words, don't click
on the links provided in the pop-up message because the pop-up message IS
the adware.

Instead, download, install, update and run this effective adware/spyware
remover- AdAware: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

Ian.

Ok don't panic. It looks like something has configured your machine to
redirect everything to a web page designed to scare you into buying
ainti-spyware software that you probably don't need. This trick of
redirecting is commonly referred to as a "Browser hijack".

For info.. That web page you are being redirected to contains some simple
code that customises itself specially for you - a bit like that junk mail
you get through the post with your full name inserted in strategic places,
usually in a slightly different font or ink density to the rest of the
letter. In this case the page is telling you what your computer told them
when it connected to their site (eg your IP address, your browser and other
normal info). Don't be tempted to install the software they recommend.
